Kids Hibachi Birthday Party: Pricing, Menu & Safety Tips
Kids pricing, menu picks for picky eaters, simple safety around the grill and a party timeline you can copy for a hibachi birthday at home.
Few things hold a table full of kids' attention like a chef flipping shrimp, stacking an onion volcano and sending flames up from the grill. A hibachi birthday party gives you dinner and entertainment in one booking, in your own backyard.
Here's how kids pricing works, what to order for picky eaters, how to keep the grill area calm and safe, and a timeline you can copy.
Why hibachi works for a kids' birthday
- Dinner is the show. Kids stay seated and watch, so the meal doesn't compete with the entertainment.
- The birthday kid gets the spotlight. Put their name in the booking notes so the chef knows who's celebrating.
- The grown-ups eat well too. Adults get the same steak, chicken and shrimp they'd order at a hibachi restaurant.
- No car seats, no waitlist. The party comes to your patio, driveway or yard.
How kids pricing works
With the Basic Hibachi Experience:
- Adults (13 and up): $70 each
- Kids 4–12: $40 each
- Kids 3 and under: free
- Event minimum: $700
Every guest gets two proteins, hibachi vegetables, rice and sauces, plus the live show. You provide the tables, chairs, plates and utensils.
A party with lots of little kids can come in under the $700 minimum. When it does, you reach it with extra proteins or add-ons, and the booking page shows your running total as you go.
With the Hibachi Table Experience, each guest picks an entrée and we bring tables, chairs, linens and place settings. For kids, the menu has a Kids Meals section with smaller portions:
- Kid Chicken & Shrimp
- Kid NY & Chicken
- Kid NY & Shrimp
- Kid Filet Mignon
Prices are on the menu. If your party has 20 or more guests, a 18% gratuity is added; below that, tips for your chef are appreciated. For every fee explained, see how much hibachi at home costs or the pricing page.
Easy menu picks for kids
With Basic, each person chooses any two proteins: NY Strip Steak, Chicken, Shrimp, Scallops, Salmon or Tofu.
- Safe bets: chicken and shrimp, or chicken and steak.
- Picky eaters: every plate comes with rice and hibachi vegetables, and starters like Edamame, Noodles, Chicken Fried Rice and Gyoza can be added to any order.
- Vegetarian kids: tofu, or the Hibachi Vegetarian entrée with the Table Experience.
- Drinks: Japanese Ramune soda is a fun pick, along with soda and water. You're also welcome to bring your own drinks.
- Allergies: tell us at least 5 business days before the party. Food is cooked on a shared grill, so cross-contact can happen.

Safety around the grill
The chef runs the grill and the fire the whole time. Your part is setting up the space so kids can enjoy the show from their seats.
- Seated, not standing. Kids watch from their chairs, not leaning over the grill edge or standing on chairs.
- An adult on each side. Seat a grown-up on each side of the table next to the youngest kids, so someone is always within arm's reach.
- Keep a clear zone. The chef's side of the grill and the walkway around the station's 12 × 8 ft area stay free of kids, toys, balls and pets.
- Games go elsewhere. Put bounce houses, piñatas, pools and ball games well away from the cooking station and the path the team uses.
- Let food cool. Plates come straight off a hot grill, so give little ones a minute before they dig in.
- Pick the show's energy. With the Table Experience you can choose the quieter Gourmet style instead of the Show style. If you have very young guests, mention it in your booking notes.
- Fire depends on conditions. The small fire show happens only when ventilation allows, and the chef adjusts if the wind picks up.
Cake, drinks and decorations
- Bring your own cake and drinks. Plan the cake for when dinner wraps up and the team starts cleaning the cooking area.
- With Basic, you set the table. Have tables and chairs arranged and plates ready before the team arrives. We don't provide décor.
- Match the theme with Table Experience colors: Black & Light Pink, Black & Hot Pink, Black & Baby Blue, Black & Purple, Black & Red and more, or a custom request.
- Keep décor away from the grill. Balloons, streamers and long tablecloth overhangs stay clear of the cooking area.

Quick answers
Do toddlers pay? With the Basic Hibachi Experience, kids 3 and under eat free and kids 4–12 are $40.
Are the fire tricks OK for young kids? The chef controls the grill and the flames the whole time, and the small fire show only happens when ventilation allows. Keep kids seated with an adult nearby and the cooking area clear. For a calmer show, choose the Gourmet style with the Table Experience.
Can we have the party indoors? Outdoors is preferred. Indoors requires proper ventilation.
What's the smallest party you do? The Basic Hibachi Experience has a $700 minimum per event, and the Table Experience starts at 8 guests.
