How Much Does Hibachi Catering Cost in Southern California?

Hibachi catering is priced per guest, and the package you choose sets the rate. With Hibachi Catering, the Basic Hibachi Experience is $60 per adult, Hibachi Table Experience dinners start at $58 per guest and our buffets start at $40.90 per guest. On top of the food you’ll see a chef gratuity (plus a service fee on the buffet), sales tax and a travel fee based on distance. Here is how each piece works, with the numbers from our current price list.

Prices at a glance

Every package adds 10.25% sales tax and a travel fee of $3 per mile from Murrieta, CA. The table below shows what changes from one package to another.

Basic Hibachi Experience: $60 per adult

A chef-only live show. The chef brings the grill and the food and cooks in front of your guests; you provide the tables, chairs and plates.

• Adults (13 and older): $60 each.
• Children ages 4–12: $30 each.
• Children 3 and under: free.
• Each guest picks 2 proteins, served with hibachi vegetables, rice and sauces. Choose from NY Strip Steak, Chicken, Shrimp, Scallops, Salmon and Tofu (Vegetarian & Vegan Option).

Basic has a $600 food minimum per event, before gratuity, travel fee and tax. At $60 per adult, that is the price of 10 adults: a party of 8 adults ($480 in food) is billed at $600.

Optional upgrades: a 3rd protein (Standard Protein +$10, Filet Mignon +$15 or Lobster Tail +$25), and add-ons such as Noodles $8, Gyoza (2 pcs) $6 and Edamame $6.

Hibachi Table Experience: from $58 per dinner

Our full-service option. We bring the grills and propane, tables, chairs, linens, plates, utensils and the chefs, and each guest picks a dinner from the menu. Every dinner comes with hibachi vegetables, steamed rice and our sauces.

• Combination dinners: $58 (Hibachi Vegetarian) to $99 (Rib Eye & Lobster Tail).
• Seafood dinners: $65 to $96.
• Specials: $105 to $290 (Hibachi Deluxe).
• Kids meals: $45 to $54.
• Fried rice instead of steamed rice: +$7 per guest.

Hibachi Buffet Style: $40.90 to $75.50 per guest

Made for large events of 50 to 1,000 guests. We deliver freshly cooked hibachi entrées, sides and sauces in chafing dishes, with disposable plates, utensils and napkins. There is no live cooking show and no table setup.

• Hibachi Classic Buffet: $40.90 per guest.
• Hibachi Supreme Buffet: $60.90 per guest.
• Hibachi Deluxe Buffet: $75.50 per guest.

Gratuity, service fee and sales tax

• Chef gratuity: 18% of the menu total on every package (Basic, Table and Buffet), whatever the guest count.
• Service fee: 10% of the menu total on the Buffet package, on top of the gratuity.
• Sales tax: 10.25%, calculated on the subtotal (food, service fee, gratuity and travel fee).
• Credit cards: a 3% processing fee applies only to payments made with a credit card.

Any extra tip for your chef is up to you.

Travel fee: $3 per mile from Murrieta, CA

Deposit and payment

To reserve your date you pay a 35% deposit of the estimated total. The deposit is non-refundable, and the remaining balance is due one day before the event. The details are in our Terms & Conditions.

Ways to keep the cost down

• Have your own tables and chairs? The Basic Hibachi Experience skips the setup and costs $60 per adult.
• Count the kids: on Basic, ages 4–12 are $30 and 3 and under eat free. Table has kids meals from $45.
• For 50 guests or more, compare the buffet: from $40.90 per guest, with a 10% service fee on top of the gratuity.
• A venue closer to Murrieta, CA means a lower travel fee.
• The 3% processing fee only applies to credit card payments.
